Investing.com – Germany equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Industrial and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 1.00% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 1.42%, and the TecDAX index climbed 1.34%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DAX were Adidas AG NA O.N. (XETRA:ADSGN), which rose 3.43% or 2.370 points to trade at 71.370 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn) added 2.43% or 0.255 points to end at 10.750 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (XETRA:TKAG) was up 2.32% or 0.540 points to 23.845 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Henkel AG & Co Kgaa Vzo (XETRA:HNKG_p), which lost 0.85% or 0.900 points to trade at 104.600 in late trade. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (XETRA:LHAG) declined 0.54% or 0.070 points to end at 12.990 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (XETRA:ALVG) shed 0.20% or 0.300 points to 150.750.
The top performers on the MDAX were Wacker Chemie O.N. (XETRA:WCHG) which rose 6.44% to 107.500, Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which was up 4.85% to settle at 59.259 and Kloeckner & Co SE NA (XETRA:KCOGn) which gained 4.45% to close at 9.442.
The worst performers were Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE (XETRA:ANNGn) which was down 3.17% to 33.00 in late trade, Evonik Industries AG (XETRA:EVKn) which lost 2.85% to settle at 30.000 and Gagfah SA Nom. (XETRA:GFJG) which was down 1.58% to 20.285 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were BB Biotech AG (XETRA:BIONn) which rose 4.52% to 283.100, Cancom SE O.N. (XETRA:COKG) which was up 4.38% to settle at 36.015 and Xing AG (XETRA:OBCGn) which gained 3.88% to close at 135.050.
The worst performers were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:SATG_p) which was down 1.94% to 124.000 in late trade, PSI AG F.Pr.U.Sys. NA (XETRA:PSAGn) which lost 1.83% to settle at 12.370 and Kontron AG O.N. (XETRA:KBCG) which was down 1.34% to 6.167 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 552 to 168 and 41 ended unchanged on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.97% to 15.05.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.80 to $1200.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude Oil for delivery in April fell 0.54% or 0.28 to hit $51.25 a barrel, while the April Brent Oil contract rose 0.26% or 0.15 to trade at $60.70 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.0998, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.7226.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.60% at 96.55.
