Investing.com – Turkey equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Leasing & Factoring and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alcatel Lucent Teletas (IS:ALCTL), which rose 5.83% or 0.400 points to trade at 7.260 at the close. Aselsan (IS:ASELS) added 5.01% or 0.62 points to end at 12.99 and Brisa (IS:BRISA) was up 4.50% or 0.29 points to 6.73 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which lost 2.31% or 0.030 points to trade at 1.270 in late trade. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) declined 1.98% or 5.20 points to end at 257.30 and Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) shed 1.85% or 0.35 points to 18.60.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 186 to 144 and 76 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was up 0.56% or 6.55 to $1179.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 2.82% or 1.52 to hit $52.47 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 2.77% or 1.58 to trade at $55.52 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 2.38% to 3.7305, while EUR/TRY rose 2.71% to 3.9421.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 102.03.
