Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Utilities and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 4.24% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.2460 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.73% or 0.0540 points to end at 3.1670 and Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) was up 1.40% or 0.116 points to 8.419 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which lost 1.89% or 0.0130 points to trade at 0.6740 in late trade. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.61% or 0.1010 points to end at 6.1810 and Semapa (LS:SEM) shed 1.32% or 0.1500 points to 11.2500.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 28 to 15 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.87% or 0.86 to $46.74 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.41% or 1.06 to hit $45.11 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.89% or 11.70 to trade at $1329.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.09% to 1.1161, while EUR/GBP rose 0.19% to 0.8600.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.21% at 95.77.
