Investing.com – Saudi Arabia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Petrochemicals and Telecoms & IT sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Saudi Arabia, the Tadawul All Share added 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Tadawul All Share were Amana Cooperative Insurance Co (SE:8310), which rose 9.66% or 0.85 points to trade at 9.65 at the close. Saudi Indian Company Insurance (SE:8110) added 9.62% or 1.50 points to end at 17.10 and Solidarity Saudi Takaful Co (SE:8290) was up 9.62% or 0.75 points to 8.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eastern Province Cement Co. (SE:3080), which lost 9.52% or 3.40 points to trade at 32.30 in late trade. Hail Cement Company (SE:3001) declined 4.87% or 0.65 points to end at 12.70 and Halwani Bros (SE:6001) shed 3.85% or 2.50 points to 62.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 102 to 48 and 18 ended unchanged on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was up 2.01% or 0.77 to $39.05 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.81% or 0.72 to hit $40.57 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.27% or 3.30 to trade at $1234.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/SAR was up 0.13% to 4.2417, while USD/SAR rose 0.01% to 3.7504.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 94.98.
