Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.68%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX), which rose 3.50% or 0.590 points to trade at 17.460 at the close. Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) added 3.18% or 2.26 points to end at 73.25 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was up 2.05% or 1.040 points to 51.700 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which lost 5.21% or 2.260 points to trade at 41.100 in late trade. Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) declined 5.20% or 3.790 points to end at 69.120 and Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA) shed 5.10% or 1.720 points to 32.000.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 50 and 6 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was up 0.07% or 0.80 to $1128.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 5.17% or 1.64 to hit $29.98 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.47% or 1.53 to trade at $32.71 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.45% to 18.4962, while EUR/MXN rose 1.75% to 20.1940.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.20% at 98.85.
