Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Building & Construction, Consumer Services and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 gained 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Indra A (MC:IDR), which rose 4.10% or 0.409 points to trade at 10.375 at the close. Obrascon Huarte Lain (MC:OHL) added 3.70% or 0.212 points to end at 5.935 and Banco Popular (MC:POP) was up 3.39% or 0.085 points to 2.591 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Repsol (MC:REP), which lost 1.40% or 0.150 points to trade at 10.540 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 0.21% or 0.040 points to end at 19.060 and FCC (MC:FCC) shed 0.20% or 0.015 points to 7.600.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 153 to 46 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for April delivery was down 0.85% or 10.80 to $1254.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $40.20 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.72% or 0.30 to trade at $41.24 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1273, while EUR/GBP fell 0.42% to 0.7782.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 95.05.
