Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Insurance and Transport sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.24%, while the ADX General index climbed 0.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Islamic Arab Insurance Company (DU:SALAMA), which rose 3.37% or 0.014 points to trade at 0.430 at the close. SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) added 2.79% or 0.017 points to end at 0.626 and Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) was up 2.76% or 0.07 points to 2.61 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA), which lost 7.87% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.17 in late trade. Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) declined 4.67% or 0.250 points to end at 5.100 and Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB) shed 4.11% or 3.00 points to 70.00.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 13.17% to 2.75, Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was up 9.50% to settle at 2.19 and Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which gained 5.26% to close at 0.8000.
The worst performers were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 6.67% to 1.26 in late trade, Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which lost 3.33% to settle at 0.87 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 1.72% to 2.85 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 rose and 8 declined, while 3 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.26% or 0.61 to $47.80 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.09% or 0.53 to hit $48.19 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.32% or 3.95 to trade at $1248.95 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.05% to 4.1163.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 95.33.
