Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Real Estate & Construction and Finance & Investment sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Telecoms, Services and Insurance sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.05%, while the ADX General index gained 0.57%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV), which rose 14.92% or 0.057 points to trade at 0.439 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 3.45% or 0.350 points to end at 10.500 and SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA) was up 2.20% or 0.014 points to 0.650 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 2.17% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.840 in late trade. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) declined 2.11% or 0.014 points to end at 0.650 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) shed 2.01% or 0.070 points to 3.410.
The top performers on the ADX General were Methaq (AD:METH) which rose 10.67% to 0.830, Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which was up 6.06% to settle at 0.700 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which gained 2.52% to close at 1.63.
The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 3.77% to 1.02 in late trade, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which lost 3.45% to settle at 0.560 and Sharjah Islami (AD:SIB) which was down 2.29% to 1.71 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 5 and 2 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 13 rose and 7 declined, while 4 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.39% or 0.70 to $51.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.05% or 0.59 to hit $57.24 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.10% or 1.10 to trade at $1105.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.66% to 4.0028.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.48% at 97.72.
