Investing.com – Mexico equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods & Services, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Mexichem , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM), which rose 6.99% or 3.090 points to trade at 47.300 at the close. Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 4.13% or 0.920 points to end at 23.210 and Controladora Comercial Mexicana UBC (MX:COMEUBC) was up 2.99% or 1.430 points to 49.190 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Empresas ICA , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ICA), which lost 2.81% or 0.330 points to trade at 11.400 in late trade. Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) declined 2.12% or 2.040 points to end at 94.360 and America Movil L , S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:AMXL) shed 1.77% or 0.290 points to 16.110.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 71 and 11 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.65% or 7.20 to $1099.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.81% or 0.41 to hit $50.85 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.71% or 0.41 to trade at $57.05 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.08% to 15.9987, while EUR/MXN rose 1.01% to 17.5089.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.78% at 97.41.
