Earlier, it traded at a session low USD1287.00 a troy ounce. Gold was likely to find support at USD1278.10 and resistance at USD1299.10.
US Dollar Index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six other major currencies, rose 0.00% to trade at USD80.39.
Elsewhere on the Comex, Silver for May delivery rose 0.45% to trade at USD19.960 a troy ounce while Copper for May delivery fell 0.43% to trade at USD3.032 a pound.
