Investing.com – Mexico equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC rose 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IPC were Wal - Mart De Mexico, SAB De CV (MX:WALMEX), which rose 3.85% or 1.580 points to trade at 42.610 at the close. Telesites SAB de CV (MX:SITESL) added 3.73% or 0.410 points to end at 11.400 and Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) was up 2.97% or 2.020 points to 70.130 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which lost 4.16% or 1.270 points to trade at 29.250 in late trade. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA) declined 1.94% or 0.750 points to end at 37.900 and Ohl Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:OHLMEX) shed 2.04% or 0.360 points to 17.290.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 69 and 4 ended unchanged on the Mexico Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.30% or 3.30 to $1094.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 5.62% or 1.86 to hit $31.30 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 6.41% or 2.17 to trade at $31.75 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.00% to 17.9356, while EUR/MXN fell 0.57% to 19.4808.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 98.87.
