Investing.com – France equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Electronic Equipment and Automobiles & Parts sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 2.56%, while the SBF 120 index declined 2.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the CAC 40 were Unibail Rodamco SE (AMS:UNBP), which fell 0.18% or 0.40 points to trade at 223.00 at the close. Alstom SA (PARIS:ALSO) fell 0.37% or 0.10 points to end at 28.35 and Vivendi SA (PARIS:VIV) was down 0.65% or 0.14 points to 21.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BNP Paribas SA (PARIS:BNPP), which lost 4.80% or 2.67 points to trade at 52.98 in late trade. AXA SA (PARIS:AXAF) declined 4.73% or 1.07 points to end at 21.54 and ArcelorMittal SA (AMS:ISPA) shed 4.62% or 0.29 points to 5.93.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ingenico Group (PARIS:INGC) which rose 7.34% to 105.60, Solocal Group (PARIS:LOCAL) which was up 6.25% to settle at 0.255 and Korian Medica SA (PARIS:KORI) which gained 3.70% to close at 33.495.
The worst performers were Montupet SA (PARIS:MNTP) which was down 6.02% to 56.820 in late trade, Nexans (PARIS:NEXS) which lost 5.12% to settle at 32.65 and BNP Paribas SA (PARIS:BNPP) which was down 4.80% to 52.98 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 496 to 221 and 58 ended unchanged on the Paris Stock Exchange.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was up 4.62% to 26.79.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.81% or 20.20 to $1137.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.35% or 1.57 to hit $45.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 2.09% or 1.02 to trade at $48.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.1371, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.7298.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.23% at 94.85.
