Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Electricity sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Sider (LM:SID), which rose 7.44% or 0.018 points to trade at 0.260 at the close. Panoro (LM:PML) added 5.69% or 0.007 points to end at 0.130 and Aceros Arequip (LM:AREi) was up 5.36% or 0.030 points to 0.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Unacem (LM:CEL), which lost 3.57% or 0.100 points to trade at 2.700 in late trade. Cem Pacasmayo (LM:CPA) declined 2.07% or 0.120 points to end at 5.680 and Austral Group SAA (LM:AUG) shed 1.92% or 0.020 points to 1.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 13 to 9 and 9 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.74% or 0.76 to $42.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.11% or 0.05 to hit $44.59 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.76% or 9.35 to trade at $1239.35 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was unchanged 0.00% to 3.2885, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.6891.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 94.74.
