Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.49%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.49% or 0.175 points to trade at 11.925 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) added 0.73% or 0.105 points to end at 14.405 and Novabase SGPS (LS:NBA) was up 0.67% or 0.021 points to 3.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 4.67% or 0.0118 points to trade at 0.2411 in late trade. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 3.06% or 0.0760 points to end at 2.4100 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) shed 2.95% or 0.1100 points to 3.6200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 21 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was up 2.00% or 1.03 to $52.52 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.41% or 0.69 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.74% or 9.38 to trade at $1269.38 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.1748, while EUR/GBP rose 0.15% to 0.8951.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.59% at 93.22.
