Investing.com – Spain equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms & IT, Consumer Goods and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.05%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (MC:ICAG), which rose 2.48% or 0.166 points to trade at 6.867 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (MC:MTS) added 2.10% or 0.375 points to end at 18.220 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.67% or 0.190 points to 11.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Amadeus IT (MC:AMA), which lost 1.63% or 0.890 points to trade at 53.700 in late trade. Mapfre (MC:MAP) declined 1.27% or 0.040 points to end at 3.119 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) shed 1.05% or 1.90 points to 178.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 84 to 83 and 15 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.20% or 2.53 to $1246.03 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.29% or 0.56 to hit $42.95 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.43% or 0.66 to trade at $45.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.08% to 1.1143, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8804.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.02% at 97.38.
