Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.33% to hit a new 3-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT), which rose 5.18% or 0.7700 points to trade at 15.6450 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.54% or 0.133 points to end at 8.783 and Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA) was up 1.40% or 0.0030 points to 0.2180 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS), which lost 2.02% or 0.1160 points to trade at 5.6380 in late trade. Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) declined 0.99% or 0.0106 points to end at 1.0624 and REN (LS:RENE) shed 0.85% or 0.0230 points to 2.6810.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 15 to 13 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for March delivery was up 1.59% or 0.88 to $56.35 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.62% or 0.85 to hit $53.18 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.15 to trade at $1166.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.0474, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8502.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.62% at 102.60.
