Investing.com – Colombia equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Investment, Industrials and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Colombia, the COLCAP added 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the COLCAP were Avianca Holdings Pf (CN:AVT_p), which rose 1.92% or 45.0 points to trade at 2390.0 at the close. Grupo Inversiones Suramericana (CN:SIS) added 1.34% or 520.0 points to end at 39260.0 and Pfgrupsura (CN:SIS_p) was up 1.05% or 400.0 points to 38400.0 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Canacol Energy Ltd (CN:CNE), which lost 2.36% or 240.0 points to trade at 9920.0 in late trade. Bolsa De Valores De Colombia (CN:BVC) declined 1.60% or 0.3 points to end at 18.4 and Banco De Bogota SA (CN:BBO) shed 0.61% or 360.0 points to 58520.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 16 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged on the Colombia Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, US coffee C for September delivery was up 0.06% or 0.09 to $147.52 . Meanwhile, US cocoa for delivery in September rose 0.96% or 30.00 to hit $3143.50 , while the August Gold contract rose 0.65% or 8.65 to trade at $1343.95 a troy ounce.
USD/COP was up 0.69% to 2939.00, while BRL/COP rose 1.49% to 898.78.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 96.33.
