Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 0.82% to hit a new 52-week high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were STMicroelectronics (MI:STM), which rose 4.32% or 0.610 points to trade at 14.730 at the close. Saipem (MI:SPMI) added 3.04% or 0.0122 points to end at 0.4136 and Banco Bpm (MI:BAMI) was up 3.03% or 0.082 points to 2.792 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Atlantia (MI:ATL), which lost 2.56% or 0.59 points to trade at 22.50 in late trade. Snam (MI:SRG) declined 2.22% or 0.092 points to end at 4.058 and Terna (MI:TRN) shed 1.69% or 0.080 points to 4.640.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 250 to 110 and 8 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.49% or 0.24 to $48.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.36% or 0.19 to hit $51.94 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.97% or 12.37 to trade at $1265.13 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.72% to 1.0945, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8524.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 98.63.
