Shares of Compass Minerals International, Inc. (NYSE: CMP) fell sharply during Thursday’s session following downbeat results.

Compass Minerals Intl posted quarterly adjusted earnings of 5 cents per share, missing market estimates of 26 cents per share. The company’s quarterly sales came in at $341.70 million versus expectations of $357.90 million.

Compass Minerals International shares fell 9% to $20.52 on Thursday.
