U.S. stocks traded mixed this morning, with the Dow Jones index gaining around 0.1% on Tuesday.

Following the market opening Tuesday, the Dow traded up 0.11% to 39,849.86 while the NASDAQ fell 0.23% to 16,756.45. The S&P 500 also fell, dropping, 0.05% to 5,305.70 .

Leading and Lagging Sectors

Health care shares rose by 0.4% on Tuesday.

In trading on Tuesday, information technology shares fell by 0.4%.

Top Headline

Zoom Video Communications Inc (NASDAQ:ZM) reported stronger-than-expected earnings for its first quarter on Monday.

Zoom reported first-quarter revenue of $1.14 billion, beating the consensus estimate of $1.13 billion. The communications company reported adjusted earnings of $1.35 per share, beating analyst estimates of $1.20 per share.

Equities Trading UP

  • MGO Global, Inc. (NASDAQ:MGOL) shares shot up 168% to $0.6129 after the company posted first-quarter results.
  • Shares of Biodexa Pharmaceuticals Plc (NASDAQ:BDRX) got a boost, surging 92% to $2.42 after the company presented Phase 2 clinical trial results of its newly-licensed eRapa in familial adenomatous polyposis scheduled for presentation at the 2024 Digestive Disease Week Annual Meeting.
  • AgriFORCE Growing Systems Ltd (NASDAQ:AGRI) shares were also up, gaining 38% to $0.1842 after jumping over 25% on Monday.
Equities Trading DOWN

  • Greenwave Technology Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:GWAV) shares dropped 56% to $0.07 after the company reported a year-over-year decrease in first-quarter financial results. Also, the company announced a registered direct offering.
  • Shares of Cheetah Net Supply Chain Service Inc. (NASDAQ:CTNT) were down 59% to $6.01 after jumping over 36% on Monday.
  • LuxUrban Hotels Inc. (NASDAQ:LUXH) was down, falling 47% to $0.2370 after the company announced the pricing of its public offering of 30.50 million common shares at $0.25 per share.

Commodities

In commodity news, oil traded down 2% to $78.22 while gold traded down 0.3% at $2,431.90.

Silver traded down 1.2% to $32.04 on Tuesday, while copper rose 1.9% to $5.1755.

Euro zone

European shares were lower today. The eurozone's STOXX 600 fell 0.5%, Germany's DAX fell 0.6% and France's CAC 40 dipped 1.1%. Spain's IBEX 35 Index fell 0.3%, while London's FTSE 100 fell 0.5%.

The Eurozone recorded a trade surplus of €24.1 billion in March compared to a €19.1 billion surplus in the year-ago month. The current account surplus in the Eurozone rose to €44.5 billion in March from €27.0 billion in the year-ago period. Construction output in the Eurozone rose 0.1% year-over-year in March.

Producer prices in Germany fell by 3.3% year-over-year in April compared to a 2.9% decline in the prior month.

Asia Pacific Markets

Asian markets closed lower on Tuesday, with Japan's Nikkei falling 0.31%, China's Composite Index declining 0.42%, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index dipping 2.12% and India's S&P BSE Sensex falling 0.1%.

Economics

No major economic reports will be released today.
