Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were mixed at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Transport sectors propelled shares higher while losses in the Services, Insurance and Finance & Investment sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General added 0.02%, while the ADX General index lost 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK), which rose 2.78% or 0.050 points to trade at 1.850 at the close. Emaar Properties PJSC (DU:EMAR) added 1.34% or 0.090 points to end at 6.800 and Dubai Parks and Resorts PJSC (DU:DUBA) was up 0.79% or 0.010 points to 1.260 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 6.76% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.380 in late trade. Takaful House (DU:DTKF) declined 4.14% or 0.022 points to end at 0.510 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) shed 3.23% or 0.021 points to 0.629.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 14.46% to 0.95, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 7.23% to settle at 0.890 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which gained 3.48% to close at 3.57.
The worst performers were Al Khazna Ins (AD:AKIC) which was down 10.00% to 0.360 in late trade, Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which lost 8.78% to settle at 1.35 and Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was down 5.77% to 0.490 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 7 and 1 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 9 advanced on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.63% or 0.29 to $45.97 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.06% or 0.03 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1138.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.01% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.26% to 4.1191.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 96.01.
