Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Finance & Investment, Consumer Staples and Transport sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.98% to hit a new 1-month low, while the ADX General index lost 0.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD), which rose 1.93% or 0.170 points to trade at 8.960 at the close. Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT) added 1.71% or 0.013 points to end at 0.774 and Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) was up 0.98% or 0.03 points to 3.08 in late trade.
Biggest losers included SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which lost 6.72% or 0.036 points to trade at 0.500 in late trade. Gulf General Investments Company (DU:GGIC) declined 4.86% or 0.035 points to end at 0.685 and Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) shed 4.05% or 0.070 points to 1.660.
The top performers on the ADX General were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which rose 8.14% to 0.93, Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which was up 3.45% to settle at 0.580 and Aldar Properti (AD:ALDR) which gained 1.78% to close at 2.29.
The worst performers were Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 9.20% to 0.790 in late trade, Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which lost 5.99% to settle at 1.57 and Natl Co Bldg M (AD:BILD) which was down 5.56% to 0.510 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 18 to 7 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 16 fell and 9 advanced, while 2 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.50% or 0.66 to $43.32 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.74% or 0.35 to hit $47.19 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1165.80 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.05% to 4.0608.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.85.
