Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Services and Insurance sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General fell 0.19% to hit a new 6-month low, while the ADX General index fell 0.10%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Drake & Scull International PJSC (DU:DSI), which rose 15.00% or 0.066 points to trade at 0.506 at the close. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) added 4.51% or 0.060 points to end at 1.390 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 2.84% or 0.110 points to 3.990 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which lost 5.02% or 0.140 points to trade at 2.650 in late trade. Arabtec Holding PJSC (DU:ARTC) declined 4.65% or 0.060 points to end at 1.230 and Commercial Bank of Dubai P.S.C. (DU:CBD) shed 4.00% or 0.200 points to 4.800.
The top performers on the ADX General were Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which rose 9.38% to 2.800, Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which was up 8.70% to settle at 7.00 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 5.44% to close at 1.55.
The worst performers were Ad Natl Ins Co (AD:ADNI) which was down 10.00% to 2.250 in late trade, National Corp Tourism Hotels (AD:NCTH) which lost 9.73% to settle at 2.97 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 5.53% to 2.050 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 17 to 15 and 4 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 fell and 12 advanced, while 7 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was up 2.72% or 1.18 to $44.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 2.45% or 1.09 to hit $45.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.75 to trade at $1225.45 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED rose 0.38% to 3.9587.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 99.88.
