Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Transport, Telecoms and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General lost 0.14%, while the ADX General index lost 0.92%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 6.96% or 0.110 points to trade at 1.690 at the close. Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) added 1.92% or 0.170 points to end at 9.040 and Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) was up 1.42% or 0.009 points to 0.644 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX), which lost 2.12% or 0.070 points to trade at 3.230 in late trade. Gulf Navigation Holding PJSC (DU:GNAV) declined 1.72% or 0.007 points to end at 0.400 and AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) shed 1.60% or 0.030 points to 1.850.
The top performers on the ADX General were Green Crs Ins (AD:GCIC) which rose 6.12% to 0.520, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which was up 1.64% to settle at 0.620 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which gained 0.75% to close at 6.75.
The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 6.42% to 5.10 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 5.26% to settle at 2.70 and Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 5.26% to 0.90 at the close.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 16 to 8; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 fell and 7 advanced on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.38% or 0.18 to $47.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.30% or 0.15 to hit $51.48 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.44% or 5.00 to trade at $1143.70 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED rose 0.54% to 4.1491.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.32% at 95.35.
