Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were lower at the close on Sunday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Consumer Staples sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General declined 0.06%, while the ADX General index declined 0.44%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 5.36% or 0.150 points to trade at 2.950 at the close. Dubai Islamic Insurance Co. (DU:AMAN) added 4.24% or 0.024 points to end at 0.590 and ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) was up 3.90% or 0.150 points to 4.000 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which lost 2.04% or 0.020 points to trade at 0.960 in late trade. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) declined 1.28% or 0.020 points to end at 1.540 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 0.85% or 0.01 points to 1.17.

The top performers on the ADX General were Em Driving Co (AD:DRIV) which rose 6.67% to 8.00, Eshraq Properties Co PJSC (AD:ESHR) which was up 2.56% to settle at 0.8000 and Arkan Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:ARKN) which gained 1.20% to close at 0.8400.

The worst performers were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which was down 4.35% to 4.400 in late trade, Rak Cmt & Cons (AD:RAKC) which lost 3.42% to settle at 1.130 and Gulf Pharm Ind (AD:GPHI) which was down 2.64% to 2.210 at the close.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 17 to 14 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 18 fell and 7 advanced, while 6 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $47.33 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $50.15 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.02% or 0.25 to trade at $1324.35 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was down 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.85% to 4.1110.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 95.48.
