Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Finance & Investment, Transport and Real Estate & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.81% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index added 0.29%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 2.57% or 0.019 points to trade at 0.759 at the close. Dubai Investments PJSC (DU:DINV) added 2.00% or 0.040 points to end at 2.040 and Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA) was up 1.90% or 0.020 points to 1.070 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mashreqbank PSC (DU:MASB), which lost 6.25% or 5.00 points to trade at 75.00 in late trade. Amlak Finance PJSC (DU:AMLK) declined 1.25% or 0.009 points to end at 0.712 and Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) shed 0.71% or 0.007 points to 0.973.
The top performers on the ADX General were Natl Bk Of Rak (AD:RAKB) which rose 4.52% to 4.39, Rak Cement Co (AD:RKCC) which was up 3.95% to settle at 0.790 and Ad Natl Energy (AD:TAQA) which gained 1.65% to close at 1.230.
The worst performers were Invest Bank AD (AD:INVB) which was down 9.92% to 2.270 in late trade, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which lost 7.46% to settle at 1.860 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which was down 2.03% to 2.90 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 12 and 5 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 10 fell and 8 advanced, while 9 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 1.83% or 1.26 to $69.95 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.79% or 0.59 to hit $75.35 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1221.40 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6732, while EUR/AED rose 0.25% to 4.2924.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 94.28.
