Investing.com – United Arab Emirates equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Real Estate & Construction and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 0.74%, while the ADX General index gained 0.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the DFM General were Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC), which rose 3.32% or 0.130 points to trade at 4.040 at the close. ARAMEX PJSC (DU:ARMX) added 2.00% or 0.100 points to end at 5.100 and Emirates NBD PJSC (DU:ENBD) was up 1.92% or 0.160 points to 8.500 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Air Arabia PJSC (DU:AIRA), which lost 0.88% or 0.010 points to trade at 1.120 in late trade. Dubai Financial Market PJSC (DU:DFM) declined 0.88% or 0.010 points to end at 1.130 and Marka Pjse (DU:MARKA) shed 0.87% or 0.01 points to 0.68.
The top performers on the ADX General were Insurance Hous (AD:IH) which rose 14.67% to 0.860, Abu Dhabi National for Building Materials Co PJSC (AD:BILD) which was up 10.42% to settle at 0.530 and Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which gained 7.41% to close at 2.900.
The worst performers were Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 1.64% to 1.200 in late trade, Rak Properties (AD:RPRO) which lost 1.47% to settle at 0.670 and Methaq (AD:METH) which was down 1.14% to 0.870 at the close.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 9 and 10 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi, 12 rose and 6 declined, while 11 ended unchanged on the Dubai Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.65% or 0.30 to $46.14 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.37% or 0.19 to hit $51.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.21% or 2.80 to trade at $1316.10 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.24% to 4.3883.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.18% at 92.44.
