Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, General Industrial and Oil Equipment Services & Distribution sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 7.23% or 60.80 points to trade at 901.40 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 4.63% or 49.00 points to end at 1106.50 and Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES) was up 3.48% or 25.00 points to 742.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NMC Health PLC (LON:NMC), which lost 7.15% or 208.00 points to trade at 2702.00 in late trade. Smiths Group PLC (LON:SMIN) declined 4.82% or 79.00 points to end at 1559.00 and Micro Focus International PLC (LON:MCRO) shed 4.36% or 51.00 points to 1119.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1397 to 724 and 220 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.05% or 15.85 to $1530.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.19% or 0.11 to hit $58.20 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $64.31 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.36% to 1.2431, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.14% at 98.275.
