Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Aerospace & Defense, Automobiles & Parts and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Rightmove PLC (LON:RMV), which rose 27.43% or 152.40 points to trade at 708.00 at the close. Barratt Developments PLC (LON:BDEV) added 3.12% or 15.80 points to end at 523.00 and Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) was up 3.06% or 26.00 points to 877.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC (LON:RR), which lost 6.47% or 32.10 points to trade at 464.30 in late trade. BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) declined 2.83% or 38.50 points to end at 1,324.50 and JD Sports Fashion PLC (LON:JD) shed 2.25% or 3.10 points to 134.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 979 to 690 and 687 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.23% or 5.80 to $2,533.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.06% or 0.78 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.65 to trade at $77.58 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.08% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 101.62.
