Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Household Goods & Home Construction, Travel & Leisure and General Industrial sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were GMK Norilskiy Nikel PAO DRC (LON:NKELyq), which rose 4.87% or 1.40 points to trade at 30.17 at the close. Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB) added 3.01% or 192.0 points to end at 6564.0 and BT Group PLC (LON:BT) was up 2.94% or 4.35 points to 152.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ITV PLC (LON:ITV), which lost 4.19% or 5.35 points to trade at 122.20 in late trade. Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) declined 3.31% or 545.0 points to end at 15935.0 and Persimmon PLC (LON:PSN) shed 3.11% or 94.0 points to 2927.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1146 to 1118 and 201 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.06% or 18.40 to $1713.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.25% or 0.15 to hit $61.12 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.03% or 0.02 to trade at $64.45 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.05% to 1.3792, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.8540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 92.845.
