Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Fixed Line Telecommunications, Oil & Gas Producers and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Londonmetric Property Plc (LON:LMPL), which rose 2.56% or 5.10 points to trade at 204.00 at the close. Entain PLC (LON:ENT) added 2.22% or 14.00 points to end at 646.00 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF) was up 2.05% or 325.00 points to 16,200.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which lost 2.34% or 13.00 points to trade at 541.50 in late trade. Whitbread PLC (LON:WTB) declined 1.77% or 52.00 points to end at 2,885.00 and Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICGIN) shed 1.67% or 36.00 points to 2,126.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1037 to 727 and 714 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.94% or 24.10 to $2,536.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.41% or 1.83 to hit $74.08 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.89% or 1.49 to trade at $77.33 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.31, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.11% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.58.
