Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Electronic & Electrical Equipment and Beverage sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Land Securities Group PLC (LON:LAND), which rose 6.08% or 54.20 points to trade at 946.00 at the close. British Land Company PLC (LON:BLND) added 5.45% or 32.20 points to end at 623.00 and Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) was up 5.32% or 27.80 points to 550.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which lost 3.75% or 23.80 points to trade at 610.60 in late trade. Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB) declined 2.51% or 153.00 points to end at 5940.00 and Relx PLC (LON:REL) shed 2.42% or 44.00 points to 1772.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1311 to 804 and 210 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.92% or 13.75 to $1483.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $53.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.12% or 0.07 to trade at $59.42 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 1.21% to 1.2759, while EUR/GBP fell 1.25% to 0.8636.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 98.130.
