Uber Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:UBER) is Altimeter CEO Brad Gerstner‘s stock pick on the latest edition of CNBC's “Halftime Report Final Trades.”

Autonomous driving, Gerstner says, is a tailwind, not a headwind for the car service company.

A U.S. appeals court on Monday rejected a bid by Uber and its subsidiary Postmates to revive a challenge to a California law that could force the companies to treat drivers as employees rather than independent contractors.

Stephen Weiss of Short Hills Capital Partners picked Meta Platforms, Inc. (NASDAQ:META), saying he will go with the leader in AI right now.

The U.S. Supreme Court will reportedly consider spiking a multibillion-dollar lawsuit against Meta Platforms that accuses the Mark Zuckerberg-led company of duping investors on the data-harvesting scandal involving British political consultancy Cambridge Analytica.
