Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Wood, Paper & Printing and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 3.08% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which rose 1.87% or 0.50 points to trade at 27.30 at the close. Sinpas Gmyo (IS:SNGYO) added 1.33% or 0.010 points to end at 0.750 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was up 1.27% or 0.020 points to 1.590 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which lost 9.81% or 1.05 points to trade at 9.65 in late trade. Eczacibasi Ilac (IS:ECILC) declined 9.24% or 0.280 points to end at 2.750 and Metro Holding (IS:METRO) shed 7.87% or 0.070 points to 0.820.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 353 to 50 and 9 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.39% or 4.60 to $1194.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.00% or 0.60 to hit $59.70 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 0.83 to trade at $64.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.57% to 2.6782, while EUR/TRY fell 0.04% to 2.9237.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.69% at 97.61.
