Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Information Technology and Food & Beverages sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.65%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Kordsa Global (IS:KORDS), which rose 1.86% or 0.13 points to trade at 7.13 at the close. Vestel Beyaz Esya (IS:VESBE) added 1.70% or 0.190 points to end at 11.360 and Vestel (IS:VESTL) was up 1.69% or 0.120 points to 7.210 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN), which lost 5.74% or 0.43 points to trade at 7.06 in late trade. Torunlar Gmyo (IS:TRGYO) declined 4.59% or 0.21 points to end at 4.37 and Coca Cola Icecek (IS:CCOLA) shed 4.54% or 1.72 points to 36.14.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 60 and 60 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.60% or 8.25 to $1364.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 4.00% or 1.58 to hit $41.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 3.76% or 1.57 to trade at $43.37 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.76% to 3.0130, while EUR/TRY rose 0.08% to 3.3598.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.52% at 95.51.
