Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Technology and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO), which rose 3.42% or 0.040 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Ege Endustri (IS:EGEEN) added 2.86% or 6.50 points to end at 234.00 and Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) was up 2.50% or 0.170 points to 6.970 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA), which lost 5.15% or 0.100 points to trade at 1.840 in late trade. Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) declined 5.13% or 0.60 points to end at 11.10 and Migros Ticaret (IS:MGROS) shed 4.31% or 0.75 points to 16.65.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 276 to 118 and 18 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.34% or 3.80 to $1120.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.28% or 0.60 to hit $46.15 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.79 to trade at $49.90 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.93% to 2.9988, while EUR/TRY rose 0.82% to 3.3354.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.09% at 96.40.
