Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Information Technology, Sports and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sinpas Gmyo (IS:SNGYO), which rose 1.41% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.710 at the close. AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA) added 1.39% or 0.70 points to end at 51.00 and Arcelik (IS:ARCLK) was up 1.37% or 0.20 points to 14.80 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sasa Polyester (IS:SASA), which lost 14.78% or 0.340 points to trade at 1.960 in late trade. Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) declined 11.55% or 0.70 points to end at 5.36 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) shed 11.50% or 1.30 points to 10.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 340 to 60 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 1.13% or 12.40 to $1106.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.44% or 0.63 to hit $44.50 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.38% or 1.17 to trade at $50.41 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.23% to 2.7862, while EUR/TRY rose 0.46% to 3.0642.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.26% at 97.41.
