Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Real Estate Investments and Sports sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which rose 5.78% or 8.00 points to trade at 146.50 at the close. Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.270 and Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) was up 3.24% or 0.180 points to 5.730 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which lost 4.62% or 1.40 points to trade at 28.90 in late trade. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 2.86% or 0.070 points to end at 2.380 and Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) shed 2.72% or 0.120 points to 4.290.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 219 to 179 and 17 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 1.44% or 17.40 to $1187.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.70% or 1.61 to hit $58.11 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.94% or 1.93 to trade at $63.59 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.01% to 2.6420, while EUR/TRY rose 0.05% to 2.8736.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.97% at 97.39.
