Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Sports and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which rose 12.18% or 0.190 points to trade at 1.750 at the close. Saf Gmyo (IS:SAFGY) added 3.33% or 0.030 points to end at 0.930 and Deva Holding (IS:DEVA) was up 3.13% or 0.120 points to 3.950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL), which lost 5.44% or 0.84 points to trade at 14.60 in late trade. Besiktas Futbol Yat. (IS:BJKAS) declined 4.93% or 0.17 points to end at 3.28 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) shed 4.79% or 0.35 points to 6.96.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 201 to 121 and 84 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was down 0.55% or 6.75 to $1222.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.49% or 0.24 to hit $48.86 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.03% or 0.50 to trade at $49.11 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.26% to 2.9386, while EUR/TRY fell 0.13% to 3.2793.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.15% at 95.45.
