Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Transport, Technology and Textile & Leather sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.70%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Konya Cimento (IS:KONYA), which rose 10.53% or 30.00 points to trade at 315.00 at the close. Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) added 5.88% or 1.50 points to end at 27.00 and Yazicilar Holding (IS:YAZIC) was up 5.79% or 1.25 points to 22.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which lost 3.60% or 0.40 points to trade at 10.70 in late trade. Aselsan (IS:ASELS) declined 3.46% or 0.50 points to end at 13.95 and Turk Hava Yollari (IS:THYAO) shed 3.22% or 0.300 points to 9.020.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 245 to 157 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 0.11% or 1.30 to $1190.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.40% or 1.96 to hit $59.64 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.41% or 2.13 to trade at $64.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.28% to 2.6614, while EUR/TRY rose 0.60% to 2.9264.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.95.
