Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Metal Products & Machinery and Holdings & Investments sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 0.50% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ulker Biskuvi (IS:ULKER), which rose 8.54% or 1.40 points to trade at 17.80 at the close. Anadolu Cam (IS:ANACM) added 7.95% or 0.140 points to end at 1.900 and Tekstilbank (IS:TEKST) was up 7.58% or 0.160 points to 2.270 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS), which lost 4.17% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.230 in late trade. Odas Elektrik (IS:ODAS) declined 3.15% or 0.240 points to end at 7.390 and Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) shed 2.78% or 0.27 points to 9.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 244 to 151 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.47% or 5.20 to $1117.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.26% or 0.11 to hit $43.00 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.13% or 0.07 to trade at $49.12 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 1.09% to 2.8658, while EUR/TRY rose 0.86% to 3.1751.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 96.82.
