Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Information Technology and Metal Products & Machinery sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.42%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Gubre Fabrik. (IS:GUBRF), which rose 18.07% or 1.29 points to trade at 8.43 at the close. Aksa (IS:AKSA) added 5.43% or 0.60 points to end at 11.65 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was up 4.55% or 0.070 points to 1.610 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS), which lost 4.00% or 0.55 points to trade at 13.20 in late trade. Tat Konserve (IS:TATGD) declined 3.16% or 0.230 points to end at 7.050 and Aselsan (IS:ASELS) shed 2.88% or 0.45 points to 15.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 242 to 158 and 16 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was down 0.06% or 0.70 to $1154.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 1.59% or 0.83 to hit $53.03 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.56 to trade at $58.71 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.47% to 2.6334, while EUR/TRY fell 0.34% to 2.9008.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.11% at 96.83.
