Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Insurance, Information Technology and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 3.25% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS), which rose 5.13% or 2.70 points to trade at 55.30 at the close. Besiktas Futbol Yatirimlari Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:BJKAS) added 4.55% or 0.26 points to end at 5.97 and ENKA Insaat ve Sanayi AS (IS:ENKAI) was up 1.63% or 0.74 points to 46.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which lost 9.97% or 1.72 points to trade at 15.53 in late trade. ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) declined 8.94% or 0.58 points to end at 5.91 and Reeder Teknoloji Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:REEDR) shed 8.35% or 2.14 points to 23.48.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 507 to 65 and 4 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.97% or 25.70 to $2,685.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.49% or 3.06 to hit $71.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 4.13% or 2.96 to trade at $74.66 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 34.22, while EUR/TRY fell 0.60% to 37.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.52% at 101.04.
