Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Insurance, Food & Beverages and Non-Metal Mineral Products sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.99% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL), which rose 5.75% or 4.10 points to trade at 75.45 at the close. Tekfen Holding AS (IS:TKFEN) added 2.95% or 1.85 points to end at 64.60 and Turk Traktor ve Ziraat Makineleri AS (IS:TTRAK) was up 2.19% or 15.00 points to 700.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gubre Fabrikalari TAS (IS:GUBRF), which lost 6.50% or 12.00 points to trade at 172.50 in late trade. Adel Kalemcilik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:ADEL) declined 5.92% or 2.18 points to end at 34.66 and Hektas Ticaret TAS (IS:HEKTS) shed 5.41% or 0.21 points to 3.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 495 to 71 and 11 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.44% or 11.75 to $2,664.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.54% or 1.92 to hit $73.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.42% or 1.91 to trade at $77.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 34.27, while EUR/TRY fell 0.14% to 37.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.96.
