Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Wood, Paper & Printing sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Akfen Yenilenebilir Enerji AS (IS:AKFYE), which rose 6.59% or 1.78 points to trade at 28.80 at the close. Mavi Giyim Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS:MAVI) added 2.95% or 3.50 points to end at 122.20 and Tab Gida Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:TABGD) was up 2.29% or 4.50 points to 200.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Astor Enerji AS (IS:ASTOR), which lost 7.71% or 8.00 points to trade at 95.80 in late trade. Cw Enerji Muhendislik Ticaret ve Sanayi AS (IS:CWENE) declined 6.13% or 13.60 points to end at 208.40 and Biotrend Cevre ve Enerji Yatirimlari AS (IS:BIOEN) shed 5.51% or 1.20 points to 20.56.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 455 to 104 and 12 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.82% or 19.00 to $2,311.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.67% or 0.54 to hit $80.29 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.40 to trade at $83.82 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.24% to 32.84, while EUR/TRY fell 0.63% to 35.12.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 105.69.
