Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Banking, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.61% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Sekerbank TAS (IS:SKBNK), which rose 6.36% or 0.25 points to trade at 4.18 at the close. Kayseri Seker Fabrikasi AS (IS:KAYSE) added 6.21% or 1.50 points to end at 25.66 and Alfa Solar Enerji AS (IS:ALFAS) was up 2.43% or 1.45 points to 61.20 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aksa Akrilik Kimya Sanayi AS (IS:AKSA), which lost 5.62% or 0.57 points to trade at 9.58 in late trade. Oyak Cimento Fabrikalari AS (IS:OYAKC) declined 5.08% or 3.70 points to end at 69.20 and Ulker Biskuvi Sanayi AS (IS:ULKER) shed 5.06% or 8.40 points to 157.70.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 405 to 156 and 13 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.29% or 32.15 to $2,524.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.64% or 1.28 to hit $76.88 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.42% or 1.15 to trade at $79.89 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.29% to 33.70, while EUR/TRY rose 0.39% to 37.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 102.60.
