Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Wood, Paper & Printing and Basic Metals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.52% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Turkcell Iletisim Hizmetleri AS ORD (IS:TCELL), which rose 0.66% or 0.08 points to trade at 12.19 at the close. Logo Yazilim Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:LOGO) added 0.55% or 0.300 points to end at 54.800 and Turkiye Sise ve Cam Fabrikalari AS (IS:SISE) was up 0.48% or 0.020 points to 4.150 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:PRKME), which lost 5.90% or 0.250 points to trade at 3.990 in late trade. Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatirimlar Holding AS (IS:METRO) declined 5.50% or 0.060 points to end at 1.030 and Tat Gida Sanayi AS (IS:TATGD) shed 5.31% or 0.310 points to 5.530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 337 to 46 and 26 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.96 to $1312.76 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.64% or 0.32 to hit $50.03 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.43 to trade at $55.05 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.05% to 3.4890, while EUR/TRY rose 0.24% to 4.1837.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 91.62.
