Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Real Estate Investments and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.44% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi AS (IS:IZMDC), which rose 7.88% or 0.190 points to trade at 2.600 at the close. Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL) added 4.19% or 2.07 points to end at 51.45 and ODAS Elektrik Uretim Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:ODAS) was up 3.08% or 0.130 points to 4.350 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Karsan Otomotiv Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS:KARSN), which lost 7.50% or 0.120 points to trade at 1.480 in late trade. Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS Class D (IS:KRDMD) declined 6.64% or 0.320 points to end at 4.500 and Fenerbahce Futbol AS (IS:FENER) shed 5.52% or 2.34 points to 40.06.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 285 to 78 and 43 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.27% or 3.50 to $1300.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.17% or 0.11 to hit $64.86 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.14% or 0.86 to trade at $74.43 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.59% to 4.6187, while EUR/TRY rose 0.54% to 5.4017.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 94.02.
