Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Leasing & Factoring, Food & Beverages and Wholesale & Retail Trade sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 1.38%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Katilimevim Tasarruf Finansman AS (IS:KTLEV), which rose 7.49% or 3.90 points to trade at 56.00 at the close. Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR) added 3.59% or 3.00 points to end at 86.50 and Enerya Enerji AS (IS:ENERY) was up 2.51% or 5.10 points to 208.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Peker Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:PEKGY), which lost 6.99% or 0.36 points to trade at 4.79 in late trade. Coca-Cola Icecek AS (IS:CCOLA) declined 5.03% or 3.00 points to end at 56.65 and Turk Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:TTKOM) shed 4.38% or 2.40 points to 52.45.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 445 to 121 and 10 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 4.05 to $2,681.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.29% or 0.92 to hit $70.64 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.93% or 0.69 to trade at $73.78 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.08% to 34.14, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 38.09.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 100.44.
