Investing.com – Turkey equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.27% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BIST 100 were Europower Enerji ve Otomasyon Teknolojileri Sanayi Ticaret AS (IS:EUPWR), which rose 4.82% or 3.80 points to trade at 82.70 at the close. Turkiye Sigorta AS (IS:TURSG) added 3.66% or 0.42 points to end at 11.90 and Papilon Savunma Guvenlik Sistemleri (IS:PAPIL) was up 3.09% or 2.45 points to 81.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koza Altin Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAL), which lost 9.49% or 2.14 points to trade at 20.42 in late trade. Koza Anadolu Metal Madencilik Isletmeleri AS (IS:KOZAA) declined 7.79% or 4.75 points to end at 56.25 and Emlak Konut Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS:EKGYO) shed 7.32% or 0.78 points to 9.87.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 286 to 261 and 30 ended unchanged on the Istanbul Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 3.20 to $2,672.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 4.01% or 2.81 to hit $72.91 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.76% or 2.78 to trade at $76.68 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.02% to 34.18, while EUR/TRY fell 0.40% to 37.65.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 101.80.
